Terahertz radiation is radiation with wavelengths about the size of a paper thickness in a range that coincides with the microwave and infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum.
All dangerous substances hidden under clothing at the entrance or inside of civil and military buildings and facilities will be able to be detected in 2D from a distance (8-10 m away). The system with R&D support will be a complementary alternative to x-ray technology used at entrances.
With the system, an image with a resolution of 3 centimeters will be taken at a distance of 10 meters. With this image, people carrying dangerous objects such as guns, knives and bombs will be detected from a safe distance. In addition, pre-production quality control of fiber composite materials used in the defense industry, national security, aviation and space industry, biology and health sciences, non-destructive measurement, quality control of food and agricultural products will be possible. Detection of drugs and illegal chemical materials can be made up to 10 meters.
